IHC - Safety

Insurance may protect the cost of your assets, but it does nothing to protect you from harm.

Surrounded by water, electricity and potentially lethal gases, the average home can be a very dangerous place. An IHC system can detect gas, water, smoke and carbon monoxide and cut the relevant supply in the event of a leak. It will also cut the electricity supply in the case of gas leaks. When a leak has been dealt with, it can even send a message to the homeowner informing them that the problem has been contained. As an added precaution against fire, IHC can time-control socket outlets so that they are only powered when you want them to be. And to safeguard inquisitive children, you can turn off the power supply to ovens, cookers and other appliances at the press of a single switch.

Smoke sensor: When smoke is detected, a high-pitched alarm sounds. To reduce the fire risk from electrical installations, the system can be programmed to shut most of the installation down. In the case of homes equipped with gas, IHC can also be programmed to shut off the mains gas supply to reduce the risk of explosion.

Gas sensor: Emits a high-pitched tone if a gas escape is detected, and relays a signal via IHC control to a solenoid valve, which turns off the mains supply.

Water sensor: Can be mounted below washing machines, dishwashers and in rooms where there is a danger that leaks may not be discovered until it’s too late. The device immediately turns off the water locally or at the mains supply.

Carbon monoxide sensor: When deadly carbon monoxide is detected in the home enviroment, an IHC system can be programmed to isolate the gas supply or switch off the bolier and send an alarm to enable the homeowner to take action.
